It’s a completely different game now, of course (I am 28, after all), but the core is still the same. I have two lasting memories from my time with the game.
One was when a guy gave me an axe that was worth quite a bit and another guy asked to ‘borrow’ it and pay me back double. He typed “That’s why we won the war, hahahaha” into chat, and logged onto another server. I still have no idea what he was talking about, but I realise I was robbed. I still hate that guy. It hurt. The second thing hurt just as much. I put some hours in and bought new set of rune armour. It was time to got into the wilderness and kick some ass. I was looking good, hitting hard and feeling confident… I was killed by archers almost instantly and lost everything.

Fable Fortune is being developed by Flaming Fowl, the new indie studio formed from the remnants of Lionhead. Microsoft have granted Flaming Fowl the license to continue making the CCG (collectable card game), which was proposed all the way back in the development of Fable II and has been worked on for 18 months. The team are nearing the final stages of development now and are running a Kickstarter to cover the remaining costs in the absence of Microsoft’s funding.
Whilst the campaign has received an impressive £56,000 of backing, it is still short of its £250,000 goal, with only 16 days left. Bearing all this in mind, I think the most important question to ask ourselves is: do we want a Fable card game? The tournament will incorporate three different game modes: King of the Hill, First to X kills, and Last Team Standing. Eight teams of five players will battle across the three-day competition, which will be hosted in the Clan Wars area of Old School RuneScape. Teams will be selected based on their runescape gold eSports pedigree and game skill, with the whole epic confrontation tournament broadcast online.
